Jason Blumberg

Senior Advisor

Jason Blumberg has spent his career as both an investor in and advisor to regional and community banks on an array of high-stakes situations including M&A transactions, capital raises and activism defense.

Most recently, Jason worked at financials-focused hedge fund HoldCo Asset Management, where he oversaw a $400 million portfolio of bank stocks. Prior to that, he was a partner at Driver Management Company, an activist investment fund focused exclusively on the community banking sector.

As an investment banker, Jason held senior positions in the financial institutions groups of Hovde Group and Jefferies, where he advised community banks on M&A transactions totaling over $1 billion in value and capital raising transactions totaling approximately $1.5 billion in value.

He began his career in the financial institutions group of Lazard Frères, where he was involved in several high-profile transactions during the financial crisis including JPMorgan’s acquisition of Bear Stearns and the divestiture of Lehman Brothers’ assets out of bankruptcy.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Amherst College, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University.
